I want to start with the benefits of having an eBay business, in case you’re not ‘sold’ on ebay.
Why Everyone Should Sell On eBay
Last time I checked, eBay had around 60,000,000 (that’s 60 MILLION) visitors a freaking month ! Obviously most of these are buyers, looking to hand over their money for the great products you’ll give them in return.
Now I read and hear a lot of stupid comments about eBay and would like to address some of them to show you, that if you are not currently making money on ebay you are losing a huge opportunity.
Some of these excuses people make are :
- “ebay take too much fees “
- “Its too competitive”
- “Its hard to find good products to sell on ebay”
- “The Chinese make most of the money and you cant beat them'”
So just to break some old beliefs, let me tell you what I think about these :
- ebays fees are minor Vs. the value you get : the huge traffic of eager buyers, the platform, and so on…
- it’s as competitive as any online business will be, i’ll just ignore this excuse..

- another lame excuse… and most us buyers PREFER buying from you especially if you are US based, because of the shipping time. No one wants to wait 3 weeks for a product from China…
Why I LOVE Selling on eBay !
I started selling on ebay a few years ago. I usually make 3-4K a month on eBay, which is not a lot, but this money pays my bills and some, and lets me focus on my other online and offline businesses ! eBay is NOT my main stream of income, and I want you to think how extra $4,000 / month would help you do whatever you need to do …. would it help you grow your business? will it help you with your bills ? could you use that money to take more vacations ? I’m sure you could. And you can, but you will need to take action.
It takes me around 2 hours a week to run my eBay business. I barely do anything with it, I just list the items, they sell, and I drop the products at USPS and thats it ! Quick. Easy. Money.
What I Sell on ebay & Where I Find Profitable Items To Sell
One of the biggest obstacles when selling on eBay is finding profitable products. By profitable I mean products that you can get for a low price, and sell for a higher price on eBay.
How much lower ? I like making at least 100% profit on each product, that means if I buy a product for $100, I want to sell it for $200. With that being said, I had products that I bought for $15, and sold for $150, thats 1000% profit. And I’ll show you how I did it soon…

WHAT TO SELL ON EBAY?
Now after you joined Salehoo, what items should you be looking for ? in my recent post, what sells best on ebay in 2016 ,you can read what items are selling in high volumes on eBay.
With that being said, these are NOT the only items you should sell on ebay. If you are a beginner, I recommend selling everything you don’t need around your house, that’s how I started.
That why you don’t waste any money buying products, and are using stuff you don’t need to give yourself a push.
After you choose a product to sell, find a supplier, order it, list it, and start selling. simple as that.
How To Sell Your Items FAST - The Art of Listing
So you chose a product, bought it from your source, and are now ready to sell it. There are a few things you should know if you want your item to sell fast on ebay, making high quality listings will directly affect your sales and make your money money.
So how do you list your item to sell ?
Here are the 3 most important elements in your listing, ignore these and you will have a house full of unsold products, and an empty bank account ( seriously, its crucial ).
- TAKE GOOD, HIGH QUALITY PICTURES OF YOUR PRODUCT.
- WRITE A KICK-ASS TITLE, WITH THE RIGHT KEYWORDS INSIDE.
- WRITE A THOROUGH, ACCURATE DESCRIPTION.
Let me explain a little more…
First thing you should worry about is your pictures. People are lazy, and people who shop online are lazier ( me included) think about that, when you go to amazon, do you bother reading everything or do you first look at the pictures ? I know when I buy something online most of the times I don’t even read the description, I look at the picture, read the title, and buy. And now that you know the buying process, you should understand how to sell. So take high quality pictures, at least 4-5 of them and I think the more the better, use different angels and make the product look appealing.
Second thing to look at is the TITLE. Like I said, when I buy something online, and I know thats what most people do, they only read the title, most don’t even read the whole description.
When it comes to the title of your listing, there are two things to consider :
- eBays’ search engine - you want a keyword in the title, so that when people type, for instance ” dell laptop model xx1″ they will find your product.
- You want the title to SELL - if your title won’t be appealing it will attract less clicks. words like “NEW! ” and “TOP SELLING!” are great words to include in your title, even though they are not keywords, they will attract your buyers’ eyes, and clicks…
Third and last thing is your product description. Make sure you write down the dimensions of the products ( size, length, so on…)
Write everything you can and give accurate description for the product, it is also a critical factor on your return rate….
After the product description, write your shipping and return policies, so your customers know what to expect ( I recommend accepting returns within 30 days , because ebay will return the money to the buyer anyway, they favor buyers ).
