A Celebration is in Order:
I rank #1 for Lucia Liljegren at Google!
I rank #1 for Lucia Liljegren at Google!
Last month, when I wrote my “About Lucia” page, I linked the # Google search result for “Lucia Liljegren and wrote:
I am no-following that because I have decided I want to see what it takes to knock an “.edu” site off the top spot in Google!
I have now fulfilled my goal: Here’s proof. (Click today, who knows how long that will last.)
Yes, The Knitting Fiend has taken the #1 Google search position for Lucia Liljegren. I’m not entirely sure what caused the knitting blog to move up. My guess is a change in the algorithm.
I can say this: My knitting blog is a more relevant result than an article about Jim Liljegren’s research trip to the arctic, (though, that article may be the more interesting. )

Congrats! Now let Vlad in on your secret. He’s trying to rank #1 for Vlad, beating a wiki page I believe for Vlad the Impaler (Dracula).
I still haven’t gotten #1 for my full name. Some designer has that spot with the domain I want as well.
@Josh- I’m not #1 for “lucia”, it’s the whole name. My name is so unusual that all the Google results do refer to me, but now at least I own the page that is #1.
The edu page mentions me because the story writer was covering my husband was stuck on an ice breaker while doing global climate research.
