Smorty: Join Now!

Big Bucks Blogger has joined Smorty.com!

I hadn’t expected to qualify for this blog advertising program yet, because their TOS say that blogs must be at least 3 months old. However, Smorty is relaxing that for this initial period; if you visit their site, they will review your blog and make an individualized decision.

It worked out for me!

So, how does Smorty compare to the other programs? Well, bear in mind that the program is new, and this is my first post. However, based on this assignment and the details described in the other three opportunities available to me it appears:

  • The blogger has a great deal of flexibility in organizing their post. Anchor text for links is suggested, but not laid down with an iron fist. This opportunity suggested a number of possible anchor text including things like advertise on blogs
  • Posts must contain between 150 words and 400 words. That holds for all posts.
  • I have two days plus 23 hours to compose and post my article. That’s a generous time frame.
  • If there is a problem with the post, Smorty will let me know and give me the opportunity to fix it. (This is lucky for me because I can’t find the disclosure requirement. However, it’s my habit to disclose, so I will. )
  • Post must be permanent and may not be deleted later on.
  • The opportunities screen is easy to navigate. Only those available to me showed.

In any case, I think Smorty looks quite convenient so far. Join now and you can get paid to blog!

Rules for Getting Paid to Blog

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

So you want to make some money while blogging about topics you actually want to blog about? Well, I’ve been explaining the specific steps that you should take to make money on the side while blogging- concentrating on telling you the things no-one tells you!

But, since I’ve written 5 posts without mentioning the obvious I’ll mention it now: after getting your blog up and running, post regularly.

But “post regularly” isn’t todays tip. :) Todays tip is: While posting “regularly”, read and analyze the typical screening rules set up by for pay to blog services. After all, your goal is to eventually permit your blog to qualify for one of these services. And even if you end up not working for these services, these rules kinda-sorta encourage some aspects of “quality” in a blog.

Now, I’ll give you a hand and collect together some of the rules and analyze them. (more…)

Smorty: Why I changed my domain name!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Smorty.com has an offer for bloggers:

Get paid for blogging. Write your opinion about peoples products, services and websites on your blog.

Yay! Another pay to blog option! But, sadly, it turned out I “screwed up” in one of my first steps of setting up the blog. Luckily, I can adapt quickly.

So, what was my “screw up” and how do I fix it? Well, I established a domain name that won’t qualify for Smorty. So, I’m going to change it. It’s easy to do. Let me first explain why I need to change and then how I need to change. (more…)
