If you are American, you probably registered your phone number on the federal “Do Not Call” list when it first came out and are now blessed with peace and quite each night when no one calls to sell you aluminum siding or new windows. Did you know this heavenly silence could be interrupted by constant phone ringing?
Well, it could: The “Do Not Call” registration works for only 5 years; the first registered will begin to lapse next year.
Luckily, it’s easy to renew. Just visit https://www.donotcall.gov, enter your phone number and a valid email address. Wait for the email, and click. If you do it today, you’ll get a nice message like this:
This registration will be effective until 9/28/2012.
I’m happy now.
